Frequently Asked Questions
What is VIN PRO CHECK?
VIN PRO CHECK is an independent vehicle information platform. We organize available vehicle information from identified data sources and present it in a clear, professional vehicle profile starting from a single VIN. We are not a government agency or government website.
What is a VIN?
A Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is a unique 17-character alphanumeric code assigned to every motor vehicle at manufacture. It encodes information about the vehicle including the manufacturer, model year, plant of assembly, and vehicle type.
What data is available in a VIN PRO CHECK report?
Available data includes vehicle identity information (year, make, model, trim), body class, vehicle type, engine specifications, fuel type, transmission, manufacturer, and manufacturing details decoded from the VIN. Data availability varies by vehicle, year, and make. Fields that are unavailable are clearly labeled NOT AVAILABLE.
Where does the data come from?
Vehicle information is sourced from identified third-party data sources. Current integrations include NHTSA vPIC (coming next phase). All data is attributed to its source in the report. We do not fabricate data.
Is VIN PRO CHECK a government website?
No. VIN PRO CHECK is an independent vehicle information platform and is not a government agency or government website. We are not affiliated with NHTSA, any DMV, or any government body. Some data is sourced from public government APIs in accordance with their terms of use.
Are all vehicle records complete?
No. Data availability varies by vehicle, year, make, model, and data source. We present what is available and clearly label unavailable fields as NOT AVAILABLE. We do not guarantee completeness or accuracy of any vehicle record.
Is accident history, title, theft, or market value available?
These features are planned for a future phase and are currently labeled PLANNED / FUTURE INTEGRATION. They are not available at this time. We will not display fabricated records in place of real data.
Can I get a refund?
Report purchases are generally final once a report has been generated or delivered. Limited exceptions apply for verified technical or payment failures. Please review our full Refund Policy before purchasing.
I entered the wrong VIN. Can I get a refund?
Refunds are not available for incorrect VINs entered by the customer. Please verify your VIN carefully before submitting. A VIN is typically found on the driver’s side dashboard, the driver’s door jamb sticker, or the vehicle title.
